New Member Coordinators 2020 - 2021

Anuva Mittal
Major:
Health Promotion & Disease Prevention
Hometown:
Morgan Hill, CA
Career Goal:
Anuva hopes to attend medical school in the future and later enter the field of academic medicine. She appreciates the meaningful mentorship she has received from her professors at USC and loves giving back to USC's students through her positions as an SI leader and tutor around campus. Carrying these strong values for mentorship, she would love to work as a clinician-educator.
Other Activities Involved In:
Peer Health Exchange, Scholars Leading Scholars, Global Medical Brigades, Supplemental Instruction (PHYS 135a)
Fun Fact
I've spent my quarantine months recreating my favorite restaurant dishes for me and my parents! (ask me for pictures of my taco spread and sushi platter)
Why AED?
I joined AED because I was lost about the seemingly never-ending steps in the pre-med process. However, I ended up gaining so much more. With familiar faces in my classes, supportive friends during the MCAT study process, and a renewed sense of motivation, AED has undoubtedly made navigating the pre-med process less stressful. I feel assured that in moments of self-doubt or frustration, I have a group of caring and driven individuals that I can always turn to both now and after I graduate.

Why AED?
AED is one of the most supportive and welcoming communities I've found at USC - there is always someone cheering you on or willing to lend a helping hand if you ever need advice. I've met some of my best friends at USC through this organization and made some amazing memories with them, from going to concerts to having late night study sessions at Leavey :)

Why AED?
Entering USC, I was unsure of what it meant to be a pre-med student. AED provided a place where I could to get to know like-minded students and lifelong friends as well as gain a better understanding of the pre-med process.
