National ChapterAlpha Epsilon Delta was founded as a national honor society in the spring of 1926 at the University of Alabama with the mission to foster successful and well-rounded undergraduates pursuing a career in medicine. Since then, 184 chapters have been chartered nationwide, forming a network of 144,000 alumni spanning coast to coast who embody the ideals of the society. In addition, a national convention comprised of delegates from each chapter is held biennially to conduct business related to the field of medicine. Today, the organization is the world's largest Pre-Medical honor society and is proud to welcome students from all fields who are engaged in the pursuit of a professional health career.
